Ann joined EBTS in June 2021. In just a short period of time, and at a young age, she has made herself indispensable within the organisation. Discover how she feels about her job as an HR officer, her colleagues and working at EBTS in this article.

Working at a fast-moving company with an open culture

“The international transport sector is fast-moving, which we evidently experience within EBTS as well. We work together with different cultures and nationalities, yet the company culture is very open and friendly. On top of that, everyone is very supportive.”

“EBTS pays a lot of attention to training and developments. All our employees get the chance to learn more about the transport and tyre world so they can excel in their jobs. Our customer service officers get trained on how to deal with dissatisfied customers and other challenging situations on the phone.”

The job of an HR officer at EBTS

“Together with my manager Wivine, I form a team in our Belgian head office. We are responsible for almost all of EBTS’ HR activities across Europe.”

“What I like about my job is that my tasks are diverse, and I have the freedom to organise them myself. I conduct job interviews, help organise trainings, collaborate with temporary employment agencies, and do the payroll for most of our offices. Each day is different. I like not knowing what the day will bring.”

“Not long after I started working at EBTS, I had the chance to visit our offices in Spain and Germany. I like meeting the people I work with in person. When colleagues from other offices visit us, we sometimes go out for dinner or drinks. It’s nice to talk to them and get to know them better.”

“As an HR officer, you really need to be a people person. Social skills are essential as you’re always dealing with colleagues and job applicants. I would say I am a people person. I love being at the office, socialising with others and helping them if needed. I take pride in hiring someone, seeing them fit in our team and be happy with their job afterwards.”

Ann’s spare time

“When it comes to my personal life, I must admit I am always on the go too. I enjoy horseback riding, meeting up with friends, and ice skating in the winter. Aside from that, I have a second job at a holiday park which I really enjoy. What started as a student job is now a place where I can keep learning and work with colleagues who have become friends as well.”
