Who is Joseph Gomes?

“I was born and raised in London, and I have two kids. I have been living in Alicante, Spain, since 2020. Before moving here, I had quite a few international experiences. I lived in Cyprus for 2,5 years and travelled through Australia and Asia for quite some time.”

“In August 2021, I started working at EBTS in the office located in Elche. Since then, EBTS has opened a new office in Alicante, which is where I work now. This office is closer to where I live, which makes my commute much shorter, and my work-life balance better.”

“After working at the company for just a few months, I took on more responsibility and was offered a job as a team leader for the contract of Goodyear UK. We started out with just 10 agents on the platform, now we’re up to 35 agents. As team leaders, two colleagues and I are the main point of contact for the customer service officers on call.”

Teamwork at EBTS

“What I enjoy most about my job is the teamwork and the atmosphere in the office. Everyone is very helpful, and we learn something new every day by solving different challenges together. I think that without teamwork, it’s difficult to achieve anything. At EBTS, we all move in the same direction.”

Joe’s take on leadership

“I think a good leader should be approachable, an effective communicator, an inspirer, and a motivator. As a team leader myself, I aim to lead by example. I have a problem-solving mindset and cope well in high-pressure situations. Above all, I like to take care of my team and create a good atmosphere.”

“The most important things to me are teamwork, good communication and encouraging my team members to be the best they can be.”

Spare time

“In my spare time, my kids keep me in motion (laughs). Aside from spending time with them, I like playing tennis, football, or any other activities that challenge me. I also enjoy calmer activities such as photography and art.”

“Although I’ve settled down in Alicante, I still like to travel a lot. I love exploring new places, eating good food, sightseeing, trekking through mountains and camping.”
